Dr. Shahla Dourod
Veterinarian
She first joined POMDR as a relief vet in the summer of 2024. Previously, she worked in general veterinary practice, and then at a municipal animal shelter for two years. She works part-time doing high quality, high volume spay and neuter surgeries, which, as we know, vastly reduces the number of homeless animals and overcrowded shelters.
Dr. Shahla earned an undergraduate degree in animal biology at UC Davis and did equine stem cell research. She went on to veterinary school at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and did research on the use of antibiotics during dermatologic procedures.
She is Fear Free certified.
