Dr. Kimberly Wilkins
Veterinarian, part-time
Before joining the POMDR staff with the opening of the Boand Clinic in November 2019, Dr. Kim provided medical and surgical care for POMDR and Animal Friends Rescue Project out of her own clinic, Cottage Veterinary Care, in Pacific Grove. Many years earlier, Dr. Kim’s volunteer work began at a hospital where she grew up in southern California. She switched to volunteering with animals while in college, including at a wildlife rehabilitation center and a low-cost mobile spay/neuter clinic. During veterinary school, she volunteered for Loaves and Fishes, which provides free health care to pets of homeless people in Sacramento. She then volunteered with Sutter County Animal Control, providing medical care to animals in the shelter.
Before purchasing Cottage Veterinary Care in 2012, Dr. Kim worked at a very busy emergency clinic north of Sacramento for four years. Her special veterinary interests include preventive medicine and geriatric care. She also enjoys reading, hiking, biking, and exploring the beach with her family.
Dr. Kim completed her undergraduate degree in biology at San Diego State University. She then received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine at UC Davis.
