Max’s Helping Paws Fund: A Legacy of Love, A Future of Hope
Max’s Helping Paws began with a dog named Maximillian Amadeus – Max for short – who crossed the rainbow bridge in 2016. In their grief, Max’s devoted parents, Dyana Klein and Dr. Jonathan Fradkin, chose to transform their heartbreak into hope for others. They founded Max’s Helping Paws Foundation (MHP) to honor Max’s memory by ensuring that pets in medical crisis could get the urgent veterinary care they needed, regardless of their families' financial situation.
Between 2016 and 2025, MHP helped over 2,400 pets receive life-saving treatment. Now, in a powerful new chapter, Peace of Mind Dog Rescue (POMDR) has officially adopted MHP’s life-saving programs, continuing Max’s mission through the newly established Max’s Helping Paws Fund.
Through this fund, the programs that made MHP a beacon of hope – Get 'Em to the Vet, Short-Term, and Continued Care – will not only continue, but expand. POMDR will integrate these services to help pets facing serious health crises, offering support for diagnostics, emergency procedures, surgeries, and even long-term chronic care.
Perhaps most importantly, the financial cap for veterinary assistance has increased fivefold, from $500 to up to $2,500 per case, thanks to the Max’s Helping Paws Fund. This means more pets can be treated, more lives can be saved, and more families can be spared the heartbreak of losing a beloved companion due to financial hardship.
Every donation to the Max’s Helping Paws Fund directly supports major medical care for pets in need. With your help, Max’s legacy will live on in the thousands of lives saved, one paw at a time.
