Meet Otter, a sweet little gentleman with a big heart and a serious appreciation for naps, snacks, and being close to his favorite person! Otter is a low-energy, affectionate guy who spends about 80% of his day happily snoozing. He's house-trained, rarely barks, and communicates mostly through adorable little whines when he wants attention or isn't feeling his best. He loves following his person around and is happiest when he can be picked up and tucked beside you on the sofa. Once you stop snuggling him, don't be surprised if he gently puts his head on your chest to request more!

Otter is a bit shy and has weak rear legs, so he isn't a candidate for long walks or a high-energy lifestyle. He enjoys leisurely strolls, happily says hello to dogs and people he meets, and then is perfectly content to continue on his way. Because his back legs tire easily, he may drag his rear paws and scrape them after walking for a while, and he needs to be carried up and down steps. He has a wonderfully laid-back attitude toward the world and is also quite comfortable in the car, where he'll simply sit or lie down for the ride.

This little guy has plenty of personality, too! He loves treats so much that they can even be added to his meals, and sometimes he enjoys being spoon-fed. He doesn't have much interest in traditional toys, but he does occasionally toss his doggy bed around and burrow underneath it. He gets along well with other animals, showing some polite curiosity before deciding they're really not all that interesting. He's also happy to meet new people and should do well with respectful children.

Otter's ideal home is a quiet one with someone who has plenty of time and affection to give. He doesn't need a busy schedule or lots of exercise - he'd much rather spend the day beside his person, take a gentle midday walk, enjoy some treats, and curl up on the couch. He does get excited when his person returns home and may howl until he settles down, but once he's calm, he's back to his favorite activities: following you, snuggling, and napping.

Otter is a special little guy looking for a special person who understands that his slower pace and weak back legs are simply part of who he is. In return, he'll give you endless companionship, sweet kisses, hilarious quirks, and a whole lot of love. If your idea of the perfect day involves a cozy couch, a devoted little shadow, plenty of affection, and maybe a few treats from the refrigerator, Otter may be your perfect match!
