If you're looking for a gentle shadow with the cutest little zoomies you've ever seen, Margaret is your girl! This sweet senior knows how to enjoy the simple things in life: leisurely walks, long naps, cozy couch snuggles, belly rubs, and staying close to her favorite people.
Margaret is easygoing and gets along beautifully with other dogs, and she peacefully coexists with cats, too. She may be a little cautious when meeting new people, but give her a few moments, or treats and she'll happily soak up all the love and attention. She's perfectly content exploring the yard, snoozing the day away, or following her foster mom from room to room. She even loves being held like a baby!
Margaret walks wonderfully on leash and enjoys getting out for strolls at her own relaxed pace. She's a low-energy companion who's happy to match your lifestyle. When left alone, she's content to curl up for a nap, and while she might let you know if the doorbell rings or if a suspicious traffic cone appears outside, she's otherwise a calm, quiet housemate.
She's still polishing up her housetraining and would do best in a home without lots of stairs, as her back legs aren't as strong as they once were. But don't let that fool you, this little lady still has plenty of joy, love, and zoomies to share.
Everyone who meets Margaret falls head over heels for her, and it's easy to see why. She's unbelievably sweet, incredibly soft, absolutely adorable, and has a heart as big as her love for belly rubs. If you're looking for a loyal best friend to fill your home with gentle companionship and daily smiles, Margaret is ready to steal your heart.
Margaret joined POMDR from Contra Costa Animal Services when it was determined that, given her age, she would be a good fit for our program.
