Meet miss Bixby, your little piece of the Monterey coast. Bixby may be small in size, but she carries the warm, sunny spirit of a walk along Cannery Row. Whether she's strolling politely on leash or soaking up attention, Bixby brings a calm, happy energy wherever she goes. Bixby is social, affectionate, and seems to genuinely enjoy meeting new people.

Sweet Bixby hasn't had the easiest journey. She landed at one of our shelter partners as a stray in a state of severe neglect. Her fur was matted and severely overgrown but you'd never know it from her sweet and trusting nature. She's resilient in the way the iconic Bixby Bridge stands strong against time. Our veterinary team is currently evaluating some masses, and we're committed to making sure Bixby gets the care she needs. What she's really waiting for, though, is a loving home where she can finally relax, feel safe, and be cherished the way she deserves.

Bixby joins us from Elk Grove Animal Services after she was found as a stray. Due to her medical need they felt she would do best to join a senior focused rescue.
