Patches is a gentle, low-key pup who thrives in a calm, easygoing environment and prefers a soft place to relax over anything high-energy or hectic. His ideal day is simple and peaceful; sleeping in, enjoying a nice meal, heading out for a relaxed walk at his own pace, and then settling back into his favorite cozy spot for more rest. He isn't particularly interested in toys or rowdy play; instead, he's the kind of dog who brings a quiet, steady presence to the home.
On walks, Patches does very well in a harness and is happy to enjoy a couple mile stroll without rushing. In public, he tends to be polite and neutral with other dogs, offering a quick sniff before moving on, though he generally prefers to keep to himself; especially around overly energetic pups or busy, crowded environments. With new people, he can be a bit shy at first and appreciates a gentle, patient approach, but once he feels comfortable, he becomes an easy companion who likes to quietly follow his people and be part of the space without demanding attention.
Patches currently lives successfully with both cats and dogs and fits well in a multi-pet household, especially with calmer companions. He enjoys car rides, and is fine being left alone for reasonable periods. While he isn't especially snuggly, he does enjoy being near his people and sharing quiet company.
Overall, Patches' best quality is his sweet, steady temperament. He's quiet, well-mannered, and easy to live with, making him a comforting presence in the home. He would do best in a calm or moderately active household, ideally with another friendly dog and people who appreciate relaxed walks, low drama, and a loyal companion who simply enjoys being part of the family in his own gentle way.
Patches came from Hitchcock Road Animal Services after he was found as a stray.
