Sweet little Shelly is a real life teddy bear, if we ever saw one! This sweet senior lady loves to cuddle with her people and gets along great with other dogs. She pays no attention to polite kitties or other 'pocket pets'. She has a slight spinal deformity that causes her to walk a bit differently, but that doesn't slow her down one bit. She still gets around well to make friends with fellow dogs and human pals. Shelly loves a good cuddle session, and even has playful bouts when interacting with some other dogs!
In typical Shih Tzu fashion, she is on a medication for her eyes and is prone to ear infections. When Miss Shelly joined Peace of Mind, she was in poor condition -- her coat was matted and riddled with fox tails and burrs. She does seem to attract burrs and sticks in her coat, and therefore her adoptive family will need to keep up with her grooming to keep her feeling her best.
This sweetheart was found as a stray, and was brought in to Santa Cruz County Animal Services before joining us here at POMDR.
