Slater is a sweet boy who gets along great with every dog he meets! He isn't too vocal until he hears another dog bark but then takes that as an invitation to join the pack. He does take a bit to warm up to new friends, but once he does, he is a total lovebug.
He would do best in a home that can let him warm up in his own time. Once he is comfortable with you, he loves being your shadow and lap warmer and is never too far away. He is living with bunnies in his foster home and he has politely met a kitty in our office and did well. Slater can be nervous around loud and fast little humans, but he does very well with calmer, gentle children who approach him slowly to give him pets. He has never walked on a leash before coming into our program, but he has been learning to be oh so polite on his daily walks with his foster siblings. He will need some continued training on leash manners and general socialization in his next home to keep building more positive experiences to teach him the world is so fun and not that scary!
Slater came to us from Hitchcock Road Animal Services when the shelter hit capacity and asked if we could bring him into our program.
