Hello, my name is Maverick - pleased to meet you! I am a polite, independent gentleman in my golden years. I prefer to enjoy life at my own speed, and I love a good, warm corner where I can curl up and dream. I am a little shaky on my back legs, so a lovely garden stroll or meandering peacefully on leash are right up my alley. I am quite respectful when it comes to meeting other dogs and people. In fact, I mostly keep to myself and mind my manners. With that said, I think that I would appreciate having a dog companion in my new home.

If you need to step out for a bit, I am content to nap until you get back (although I won't say no to a nice car ride). I am well-adjusted to my crate, but I am also a good free-range fellow. I have overcome skin allergies and have severe dry eye that is balanced with daily ointment.

If you are curious about my past - we all have one - I was found with my guardian, who had passed away just after Christmas. Thankfully, someone found us. My remaining family was unable to keep me and asked for help in finding me a loving home, so I am here to ask if that would be yours.
