Adorable little Beckett is a SPECIAL dog in so many ways! This sweetie appears to have had a rough life so far, but it hasn't broken his spirit. Although blind and hearing impaired, Beckett has adjusted very well with his other senses and has learned how to adapt to new surroundings amazingly well. Beckett gets to work exploring his surroundings immediately and seems to learn the lay of the land quickly. Both of his eyes were irritating him so the ophthalmologist advised us to have them removed. He is now comfortable and very capable without them.

He enjoys walks with his foster mom, and is happy at a park or an enclosed back yard without too many obstacles. Beckett is interested in and comfortable to welcome other dogs, and would be happy to share his home with your other pups. He seems to light up when other dogs are around!

He's sweet with humans too, and wants to be involved in whatever is happening at home. Overall he is mild mannered and dislikes being restrained at the collar or face. Probably would not like being over kissed or "loved on" near the face too. However, he is a good companion for a nap. He enjoys the feeling of security during a snuggle and has given a few kisses in thanks. They are very soft. He is quite a snuggle bug when he's ready.

Beckett needs an uncluttered home without steps, and will appreciate a patient person who can help him learn his surroundings and show him what safety and security mean. He will show you in return what a really sweet dog he is! Ideally, that person can be with him most of the day and be his literal guide. He would do well with small dogs as companions. He needs to stay engaged during the day so he knows it is time to sleep during the night. A blind dog could wake up confused and lonely if the rest of his pack is asleep.
