Harold is one handsome pup with a heart full of love! He bonds quickly to his special person, but can exhibit resource guarding behavior when there is more than one person in the home. Harold prefers to live with is one special someone.
He is crate-trained and does really well with a routine. Harold is an intelligent dog and learns quickly. He absolutely loves car rides and walks, but he is leach reactive out in public which means he'll bark and pull when he sees other dogs. Our behavior team is working with Harold to help him feel more comfortable on leash out in the world and will continue to work with his adopter for three months after adoption to make sure he retains these good habits!
Harold needs to be the only pet in the home, as he does not do well around other dogs and cats. Harold is looking for his one special person to cuddle with, help him feel safe and loved, and to continue his ongoing training to becoming a good doggie citizen. Yes, Harold is a little bit of a challenge, but your patience and consistency with training will pay off and you will have the most devoted and wonderful companion.
This dapper pup came to us from Hitchcock Road Animal Services where he was surrendered by his former guardian.
