Doug is a darling senior fellow. He toddles about and is happy to say hi to everyone in the room. He's great with kids and has been around children for much of his life. He is content around other dogs and can definitely have canine siblings. He is crate trained and comfortable being home alone. He is great in the car too. He wears his big smile almost all of the time and would be an excellent companion!

Doug may have some degree of chronic pancreatitis. He is being fed a low fat diet to help reduce stress on his pancreas. This has helped normalize his lab work, but these values are something that will need to be monitored by the adopter's vet from time to time.

Our vet also found a large mass on Doug's left lung lobe. He is under the care of a veterinary oncologist for treatment of the mass. He takes a 25 mg Palladia pill three times a week. The Palladia has been helping to reduce the size of the mass and Doug has no side effects from the medication. The cost of the medication is $15 per pill ($180 per month). The cost of his medical care also will include monthly follow ups with the oncologist, periodic xrays, and blood work

He came to us because his guardian passed away. He served as her ESA (Emotional Support Animal) dog.
